i still remember the first time
you confessed
it was bustling cars
and
a starlit sky
"i love you", you said
with a diffident look
right after
oh! my boy!
i have waited several lifetimes
to hear you say that
the universe spun on its axis
nothing was the same,
it had just begun
the world imploded
and i
drifting through the galaxies
your eyes spoke
no, you were not the first person
but can i admit -
this felt just right?
as though it was meant to be
we were meant to be
the whole world stood still for
you and i
you never gave my spirit wings
nor my heart a song
but oh!
you opened a little heavens door
a door i promise to never close
for my love
nothing was the same,
it had just begun
could you maybe say it a million more?
